hi guys, this is my official 1st post for M106 blog......sorry i could not contribute anythin special so far.....but its ok now i got lots of pics to show u guys .n guess wat today is actually my 1st year celebration of bloggin..hahaha i started bloggin this exact date last year...so chun rite???......hmmm if u're wondering wats d title up there bout...to those who dont know, that was this years diwali nite theme. Nakshatra means stars in sanskrit......so diwali nite was a fun filled multi racial extravagant event held on the 17th of nov.....where our imu student more specifically our m106 bathcmates performed n showed off all their talents.....n the best part most of u guys came n supported us...so thanks guys...u ppl r the best la.....ok ok ok no more talk here is the pics....wanna c more go checkout my blog.. cya peeps...

hey guys...
it's my 1st post... sorry rooney and zi yun to have waited this long for a contribution... well, just to keep things going... can't think of anything to write so i guess a poem will do the job...
ahaha.. i'm not that good in it but i do enjoy poetry.. when's ur turn to 'poem blogging' zi yun? just asking..=)

Weary eyed I took a stroll
Though was late, but work has taken its toll
I needed a break and to the field I went
In search for the stars that leads me to neverland
I cried to the stars littering the skies at night
I wished I could pause awhile and enjoy the sight
But tonight the sky is veiled by jealous clouds
I stood and stared with increasing doubts
Of late the sky has been crying
And the clouds above have veiled your feelings
Gone when I could see your lovely jewels
Where each and everyone shone brightly as pearls
Your beauty is one that never lies

The Blogger's Syndrome

To make up for my last uber lame post, I decided to write a better one. *hopes its better* Here goes:

The Facts - What You Need To Know:

Characteristics:

A relatively new disease that emerged in the late 20st century and is currently on an alarming rise in the year 2006.

There is no stopping it, since it's extremely infectious and once, infected, there is no known cure for it. Destructive and systemic, infected persons are known as "compulsive bloggers", as blogging is a way of life for them.

A vaccine has yet to be found but IT-illiterate ppl are working on it.

Current Status: Already a pandemic.

Vector: "Weblog" (now more popularly known as a "blog"). Active 24/7. Well known vectors since discovered are blogspot, xanga, friendster's blog, blogdrive etc.

Etiology (Causes): Fed by euphoria of ppl reading and acknowledging your writings. Comments left by others greatly aggravates the condition. But can be due to extreme boredom and a need to do something remotely useful too.

Signs and Symptoms:

• "partial paralysis" of the phalanges (fingers) due to excessive typing.

• "exophtalmos" (bulging of eyes) due to immense strain of the eyes from the glare of the screen.

• bouts of "psychosis" when something interesting is happening. [don't you find yourself piecing together a blog post in your mind just then?]

• sudden "amnesia" where you sit down, stare at the computer screen and find out that you've forgotten everything that you've painstakingly planned to write about.

• occasional "hypoxia" of the brain, leading to writers' block, which leads to ppl writing lame crappy posts like this one. [kinda regret writing that, I think I just ruined my reputation along the way, aikz]

Pathogenesis: Starts when you acquire a blog (vector, rmb?). Symptoms are mild in the beginning, incubation period varies among individuals; but will eventually flare up into addictive blogging. Can never get rid of it, will always remain a latent infection.

Treatment: As mentioned above, no cure yet known to mankind. No vaccine either. The best way is to just delete your blog forever and never touch a keyboard ever again. But there is a huge doubt in the scientific community if that way will work.

Epidemiology: Currently almost 40% of the population is affected (correct at press time), found more prominent in people who are tech-savvy and love writing crap.

Prevention: Never expose yourself to the vector! [means don't start a blog lah] No matter how much your infective frenz plead you, be strong.

Take Home Message: Rmb, prevention is always better than cure. If you think you have even ONE of the signs & symptoms above, pls refer yourself to a psychiatrist immediately. Thanks for taking your time to read this. :)

01# Reasons to study in the library

Before i start, please forgive my grammar mistakes and my profanities. I dislike to blog, i hate to blog, i freaking don't like to read blogs.

Oh yeah.

Instead of writing, reading blogs, why don't spend a little more time to study?

Everytime when i walk down to the library, my instinct drives me to make a left turn into the com lab. And i'll start using the com and start typing non sense about the gahmen and stuff.

Now, i have learnt to turn right and sit down. Study.

Studying in the library is an enjoyment. Believe me, it is.

Freaking believe me ok? So shut up already!


What's so great to study in the library?

Well, you get to study with the smart people. You'll get smart too.

Eh... Mistake. Not that one above. Should be this one.

Smart peeple usually use more than 2 highlighters, i use only 2 so i'm not that smart!


What push a person like me to study is definitely the environment. You can barely smell the stress released by each of everyone of them.




Mmm.... I can smell the stress....


And the scent of stress once received by the brain, the system will automatically react. And the feedback will drive one's ass to stick on the chair, and eyes on the notes.

Notes? Wait, we have to notes to study!

Lecturers are not giving notes. If they do, notes given are not sufficient yet kind of useless. Well, we need more notes. A lot. Lotsa them.

Where to get notes? Print in the CAL lab? Oh great, supply me free A4 papers then.

Alright. Once getting the notes, the study must begin as soon as possible. Every single second counts.

Well, if you don't concentrate enough, your ass shall be cursed.

Eyes on the notes until 5pm. Ciao.

In the end of the day, what have i studied?

Eh... Did i ever got those stuffs into my brain?

1. we hav a very good cheer - the funky chicken cheer!!

which was copied from gp1 of orientation which was copied from a sem3 senior which was copied from sum singaporean university.

2. we are a joyful bunch of people.

it takes very little to make us happy. just repeat de "brainstem" song over n over again n watch us laugh out our CSF.

3. we respect our lecturers.

we clap for every single time we can. we clap after lectures. we even clap after lame jokes by the lecturer.

4. we remember each other's birthdays

we sing the birthday song almost every single day. n when there isn't anybody's birthday, what do we do?? we do wat barney does.. we make believe.. n to date... our friendly neighbourhood kajen is 872512 years old and counting!!

5. we act professional

in order to b a good doctor, one muz always carry a papa patho n a papa dorlands everywhere one go. we must also wear a lab coat in csu, labs or when it is cold in the lecture theatre. btw.. always rmb ur pen torch.. u'll nvr noe when it might come in handy.. yes.. even in taman negara..

6. we have the best cheerleaders

our cheerleaders r de best!! sem 5 got second coz they r leavin n its charity case.. pharm won coz they r on drugs!! referee kayu!!

7. we practise what we preach

doctors always tell their patients to get sufficient sleep and eat healthily.. what better place to demonstrate how much we mean what we say than the lecture theatre itself?? TKS is our pelajar contoh.. look at his pic in de post below.. memang superman.. since super is not a medical term.. SPERMAN!! ahh... dats more medical student-like..

8. we are not nerds

we do not study as much as the other batches.. all work n no play makes jack a dull boy.. y study so hard for exams?? if wan so kiasu go 2 NUS la.. anyway how hard can a 1 hour exam b rite?? dats is why we hav a record breaking dropout rate in IMU history.. not bad.. another first..

9. we are good in sports

we cheer the loudest for every single events.. let me assure u.. this is not a case of empty vessels making a lot of noise.. our effort reaps its crop.. we got the posterior-most place for IMU cup.. not bad at all.. bravo!! bravo!! way 2 go M106.. but after all.. IMU cup isn't about winning rite?? its a bout de togetherness.. n we r de ones who truly understand the meaning of togetherness..

Nine Outcomes, Huh?

In a pathetic attempt to revive this blog - it better not die so fast! - here you are, reading one of my crappy posts again. Hehe.

Anyway, I was thinking, since IMU is always talking abt the 9 outcomes (erm, I dunno any of them, blek), why not we write down the 9 outcomes of having a M106 blog? [yeah, crappy, but I dunno what to write here eh...]

The Nine Outcomes of a M106 Blog:

1. to be a place to ahem, "diseminate information" abt Imu? Nothing like sharing where's the best places to study [huh?] or which lecturers you think are the coolest in Imu. :) Random topics encouraged.

2. a place to share our joys or sadness that we go thru as a batch... A place to talk abt events in Imu.. Be it a funny class, a sudden fire drill or even Imu Cup... Anything goes~ Photos anyone? Camwhores wildly welcomed. *winks*

3. to promote friendships among batchmates so that you don't go "Who?" when your friend is talking abt that pretty girl/hot guy that sits just in front of you during lectures. =P Sucha shame, isn't it?

4. a platform where you can air your opinions or disatisfaction. We're like to improve our general knowledge too. And then the dean will say that our blog is nothing but... the most educational blog of all. *smug smile*

5. to keep up with the 101 of who's going out with, who's going after who etc... *psst, gossip alert* Tongues Fingers are wagging. lol.

6. just tot of this. A place to discuss our weekly woes of PBL!! Ah.. We could share information or smtg? Share info on our lectures? Which books to buy? To buy or not to buy? But that would make it kinda boring, woudn't it? *shrug* We can't escape jargons anymore!! :T

7. well, since a lot of the posts here are supposed to be hilarious *cough cough*, this blog can definitely be a stress buster! Hey, you shld be smiling while reading this post eh. Pretty please? *shiny eyes* [I think I watch too much anime ade..]

The prospect of having a batch blog is really exciting and the fact that it actually materialized - UNDESCRIBABLE. Woooohoooo!!

I wanted to create history in this potentially famous blog .

Initially I wanted to be...

• the writer of the FIRST entry : Mission failed


• the FIRST chatbox spammer : Yet again another failure


• the FIRST person to comment : Beaten to it by zzzyun


• the FIRST person to post pictures : Guess whose picture is the first?


• the person to name the blog : I was never a founder in the first place. Understandable. Heh.

Nevermind all that. I can still create history in my own notorious way.

• Making the First Real Crap Post. (It's this one, if you didn't realise)


• which incidently means the FIRST person to break one of the ground rules. (The "Thou Shall Not" Rule No. 3)


• The FIRST person who sweared in this blog. OMG! This is a fckin' lame one.

Sorry people for the lame post. Just thought I would support the blog by writing something in it. Blueak! You people gotta help Mr. Admin and zzzyun to post too. Besides, your contributions could set a benchmark on things or subjects I should blog about (to avoid incidence such as in this post).

The Story of The M106 Blog

Ah ha! Finally a blog to call our very own - let's celebrate the birth of the M106 blog! *enthusiastic clapping*

Well, since the honour of doing the very first post was cruelly snatched from moi *sniff sniff*, I shall settle for the 2nd best option, the 2nd post then!

*someone grab the girl and stop her from crapping pls*

Okie, fine. I shall attempt to be serious. I shall start my grandmother stories then. *huff*

One fine day, Anne and me were chatting online about random stuff, when suddenly the idea of a M106 blog was borned! Just like that. Ah then, how geniuses came upon brilliant ideas are not to be questioned... (Wah, why I like very perasan like that.. -_-"" *slaps self awake*)

But although the idea was borned, it needed others to support its birth. And so came together a bunch of enthusiastic bloggers from our very batch itself to breathe life into it. And credit goes to mr.admin for taking the painstaking task of setting up the very blog itself. [I dunno if I shld reveal the identity of mr.admin onot, depends on him kua, hehe]

And so here we are, on this not so fine day (hazy eh..) to see the awakening. [Btw, those who know my style of blogging shld know that I'm not exactly very fond of posting pics, lazy girl, I am, lol]

Okay, before we get the ball rolling - I do hope this blog stays alive - I think we hvta set some ground rules that ppl must adhere to. Yeah, yeah, someone has to do the dirty work whut.. *sigh*

Thou Shall:

1. blog like a decent medical student without any obscenity, nudity or what-nots in your posts. Occasional swear words (which are socially acceptable) are okay though. Hehe.

2. only blog about things that you feel comfortable with other ppl reading. Coz rmb, this is a public blog. Leave the private stuff in your own personal blogs pls. If you don't mind though, then I guess it's up to you lah...

3. try to integrate as much humour as possible in one's posts as our batchmates are often stressed, so a little humour will be greatly appreciated. :)

4. try to blog in a neat way pls. Paragraphing is a great art to prevent straining of the eyes. Try to use the more bright colours (as demonstrated in this post) coz the background of this blog might be changed from time to time, we don't want others to not to be able to read your posts now, do we? Oh ya, do rmb to tag your posts under certain categories okie... (e.g. "happening news" and "humour" for this post) Feel free to make up your own. Just not too many okay. Thks!

Thou Shall Not:

1. blog about sensitive issues that might lead us to be caught by ISA or whoever. I don't want to come under fire from the law!

2. talk bad/gossip about whoever in this blog. Keep all that dirty laundry to your private conversations pls~

3. talk crap - like me. However, if you insist, pls make sure the crap is at least as interesting as the crap in this post... Haha. [perasan levels increasing]

Okay, fine. My crapping skills are severely exhausted. Anyone who has anymore ideas abt what sort of ground rules we need, pls add them okay. Thanks!
